I have a darker medium brown natural color that gets lighter down the length and this color covers my whole hair very well. Though it doesn't cover the handful of gray ones I have very well. Over all I like it. My hair reaches mid back and a 4 Oz jar lasted 2 dyes with full coverage each time. It's thick and conditioning and I recommend it to my friends as I was the first in our group to try it. I do think this fall when I go try a green I will prelighten my hair before I dye.

I had pre lightened, not toned, hair. It was more yellow since I'm naturally a very dark brown. The blue velvet did go more green, which makes sense blue and yellow mixed, and turned out more teal. Still very gorgeous and I received many compliments. The "mishap" with the blue on bronzy bleached hair looked almost exactly like cerulean sea. After a month the blue velvet turned teal did fade to a more pine or juniper green but still very beautiful and vibrant. I purchased Cerulean sea on Amazon to try and it went on perfectly despite being over a green shade. I've tried many semi permanent colors and hands down lunar tides has lasted the longest. With beautiful outcomes even when the shade wasn't exactly right.
